On Friday morning our clan all gets up at 5:30 to spend the day with the Papa. We head out to Glen Ellyn where Mike drives buses. While Mike is on the first part of his route we head to the local Dominicks for breakfast. Mike meets us there in their little seating area and we enjoy breakfast together. When Mike leaves to do the second part of his route the kids and I head to a local playground. Once Mikes route is done we get to have the day together. Last Friday we went to Willowbrook Park in Wheaton. It is an animal rescue site for injured animals. Ben liked it so much that he actually asked to go again this week. At the park they have injured animals in cages that the kids can see. They have eagles, a woodchuck, raccoons, and a fox. They have other birds like owls too. They also have a butterfly garden. The garden had a butterfly observatory that has a giant puzzle and binoculars for the kids to use.
Mama gets to carry Allison in the Onbu. She loves it up there and people are always asking about it. I feel like a Babyhawk representative. But really it gives me a chance to share how great babywearing is and what kind of tools there are for it.

Here is Ben and Mike working on the giant puzzle. Doing this puzzle with Papa has really sparked Ben's interest in puzzles. Now he asks me to get out the puzzles every day so he can do them.

Here is Ben checking out the binoculars.

This was a great place for Allison to practice her walking. Papa indulges her and lets her walk all over.

Allison loved looking at an holding a large leaf we found. It was almost as big as her head.

This friday we did more walking and checked out the inside nature center. There were animals to see there too. The kids love this place. I will have to keep it in mind for Friday mornings that we need to move around and enjoy nature.
